Last week Dave Peterson packed his bag and headed to Matamoros, Mexico. He joined an inter-denominational group that was volunteering at the Matamoros Children’s Home there. Dave spent five days pouring concrete pads to support generator upgrades for a back up electrical system. He was very encouraged by the trip. The group contained 15 people from various churches who travelled to the children’s home. The home sits on a 40 acre lot, and has about 20 structures. In all 108 children live there.
Dave is an amazing handy man, and an amazing disciple. Upon arrival, they quickly put him to work repairing a variety of things at the home.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
